Schooner Madeline is at the Fayette State Historic Site August 16th-18th! We will be open for deck tours 11am-4pm all days.

We are excite to offer our tool sharpening class again this spring so you can keep your tools sharp for your own projects! This popular class is taught by Rod Jones and Bruce Davis and is in person in building 1. Sign up will begin on March 1st and the link will be here!
Old Skills, New Thrills: Racing to Alaska with tall ship sailors
The Race to Alaska is an engineless, unsupported race from Port Townsend, Washington to Ketchikan Alaska. 750 miles through one of the most difficult waterways in the world: www.r2ak.com. What happens when a group of tall ship sailors joins forces tackle the challenge on a modern sport boat? Find out in this lively evening presentation with photos and video from the team “Unsalted Nuts” who competed in 2023, presented by one of the original nuts and MHA Executive Coordinator, Heather Jankens. Shipwrecks of the Manitous
Off the shores of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is one of the most dangerous spots on Lake Michigan, the Manitou Passage. Below the majestic views and beautiful scenery lies a graveyard of shipwrecks, some found, others waiting to be discovered. Join author and shipwreck hunter Ross Richardson on an exploration of the histories and mysteries of this legendary area.

Old Skills, New thrills-Racing to Alaska with a group of Tall Ship Sailors on a Modern Sport Boat
Have you heard of the Race to Alaska? If you haven’t-your need to! Called “The America’s Cup for Dirtbags” this engineless and unsupported race is a grueling 750-mile journey from Port Townsend, Washington to Ketchikan, Alaska. Listen to a presentation by “UnSalted Nuts” team Captain-Heather Jankens a Northern Michigan based team that took on the race this year and finished! Pictures, video and some foul language is to be anticipated for this fun presentation at the Grand Traverse Yacht Club.

Come join us on Saturday for Soup, Sails and a shop tour! Get to know MHA and everything we do, sign up for basic crew training, or learn where you can help! The Sail, Paddle and Row Show!
Tallships, activities and fun all day on Discovery Pier! This is a free community event hosted by the Maritime Heritage Alliance. There will be opportunities to sail on our small fleet, ship tours, games, arts and crafts!
